How many sausages/bangers does one packet yield ?
A packet yields 6 good sized sausages.
Once I have made up my sausages, do I have to refrigerate them prior to frying them ?
Yes, in order to get a good texture we recommend refrigerating them. In fact ideally, FREEZING them yields an even better texture.
Can I cook them from frozen once I’ve made them up, and how do you recommend storing them if so ?
Absolutely, cook them from frozen any time. Just be sure to store them in an airtight container and take them out to fry as needed.
Once cooked, can I eat them cold if I wish ?
Sure you can, they are great sliced up in sandwiches with some hot English mustard (or any other condiment of your choice).
Once open, can I store the mix ?
We wouldn’t recommend storing the mix once opened for longer than a day, and if so, it should be properly sealed. As a packet yields 6 sausages it is best to make them all up and freeze them, or else keep them stored in an airtight container in the fridge.
Could I purchase a larger packet, enough to make 18 sausages for example ?
Sure you can, but please let us know in advance if so.
How many breakfast patties does the dried mix yield ?
3 patties. Be sure to refrigerate or freeze them prior to frying them up, and to cook them on both sides until deep golden. Drizzle with maple syrup for great results.
Can I use the sausage mix as a stuffing for vegetables or for a seitan roast ?
Yes, of course.
Can I make sausage rolls using the mixture ?
Yes, you can. Be sure to make your sausages a little shorter, and then wrap them into the pastry and cook until golden or until the sausage mix is cooked through.
What about party sausages ?
They are ideal for party mini sausages, just shape them into smaller mini sausages, fry, and serve them with toothpicks, and enjoy dipping them in ketchup or any other dip of your choice.
Can I BBQ the sausages or patties ?
Yes of course, this is best done from frozen and be sure to have some marinade to drench them with beforehand.
